The Muddy Beauty

All alone she stood
In the beautiful green lawn
She had the colour of wood
And looked flawless at dawn

This statue looked like it had life
Carrying a pot of water
She looked like someone's wife
Or maybe someone's daughter

The sun shined brightly
But now it's cloudy
And then it drizzled lightly
The water made her mouldy

I ran towards it
And held her as if she was mine
She turned so mouldy, the water made her sit
And looked like, she wanted to dine

A tear welled in my eye
As I held her close to me
I never wanted to watch her die
Such a beautiful lady,I had to see.
